Dear Friend,
Hi, it's Zack here.
Before I tell you what this site is all about, I want to ask you a question.
What led you to this web page?
When you're ready with your answer, blink your eyes.
You new there was a catch here, don't you? Hint: it wasn't the eyes part.
Every morning we get up convinced, that we make rational conscious choices that are in are best intrest. We like to think that we control where our life is going. Yet in the evening we often talk about the things that happend to us, and the way they made us feel. Stuff like:
My promotion made me proud.
The traffic drove me crazy.
This and that led me to this web page...
See, you are THE ONE making, driving and leading. You can't control what happens outside of you, but whether it gets to you is your responsibility. Even the good things. If for example, the act of promotion or praise by someone else makes you feel better, there is a 99% chance that the opposite holds tru as well.
This site is about taking control of your own destiny, and not being pushed around by people and things. I used to split the responsibility for my happiness, between me and Mr. Circumstance. And believe me, you don't want to leave anything to Mr. Circumstance cause sooner or later he turns out to be this backstabbing jackass. I fired him from my company too late, when I was already feeling suicidal. But I was an extreme case and you don't need for anything like this to come to your head.
When I was a child I was losing my eyesight rapidly, and around the age of 18 I eventually went blind. I had a lot of things that weren't working out for me in life,, and what you think I put the blame on? Not only I refused to take responsibility, but I was spending most of my time contemplating how screwed I was.
I had to learn to be assertive, or to get lost. After all I realized that not standing up for yourself is the ultimate self disrespect. Damn it! Of course I respect myself. So I didn't get lost. And thanks to the computer who reads out for me, I can write this blog now.
So be assertive, and never let Mr. Circumstance or somebody else to lead you by the nose!
In order to be happy and successful in life you shouldn’t settle for second best. In fact, if all good things were coming to us on a silver platter, life would be so boring….
That’s why many people wish to make positive changes and enhance their lives.
However often times people end up stuck and unhappy.
Of course it all boils down to taking action and stepping out of the comfort zone.
It’s well known that a person does more to avoid pain than to gain pleasure.
So in a way dissatisfaction and disappointment can be considered to be motivators, thus a useful thing.
But there’s a trap to this rule.

Social anxiety can be a very frustrating disorder… disorder? Why every issue should be classified as some kind of disorder… but this is a question for
another article.
It’s really bothering if you want to express yourself, but social anxiety is the thing holding you back.

Every person has the tendency to procrastinate, but most people don’t make any efforts to minimize this self sabotaging habit.
However there are people who are aware of their own procrastination and are willing to overcome it.
And what stops them from doing that?
Procrastination, of course.
If a person knows that doing something would be of benefit, why wouldn’t he or she do it?
It doesn’t make sense, but there must be some reasoning behind it anyway.
That reasoning happens on the subconscious level, and most of the time remains invisible.

People complain how they don’t feel motivated and how they feel life’s passing by them.
And if each day is like the day before, no doubt that would make you unmotivated.
The worst thing is getting into the habit of boredom. It’s very strange to me when I hear people say:
I want to spice up my life, but don’t talk to me about hobbies because there’s nothing that interests me so much.
That is emotional laziness.
Such people may not be very fun to converse with, because they just don’t appear to have passion for things.

Don’t you feel that depression and anxiety are getting more and more common?
I think that to a large extend they are a social phenomenon. And everything that has something to do with society has a viral nature to it.
Let me explain.
People don’t like to feel bad.
But people also don’t like others to think bad of them.
That’s why consciously and subconsciously people tend to copy behavior from each other, and so social norms are being formed.
Often when a particular life situation arises, the society expects the person to react in a certain way.
